Good times! While the summer holidays do dwindle class sizes it does mean plenty of space for Tai Chi Playtime. This week we’ve been exploring Chi Kung using feathers to enhance total body movement (activating the kua big-time) and extend Chi beyond the hands.
Extending Chi is usually a weapons based endeavour and is considered advanced, it allows a practitioner to gain amazing sensitivity and the ability to place adverse Chi into an opponent. The other side of the coin is holistically we can send Chi to heal, it all boils down to intention.
Extending Chi into something as big as a spear is challenging, a feather not so much, so think of them as your foot in the door to Tai Chi energy based practices.
Well done all

Feathers have other energetic uses. Due to their natural construction they are excellent for combing auric fibres and are great for subtle space clearing either on their own or used in conjunction with smudge.
I go with goose, easy to scavenge, large & rugged and in my case a personal affinity – my birthday makes me a snow goose in shamanic traditions.
